Recently I have noticed that people are paying more attention to when full moons, new moons, solar and lunar eclipses are occurring. The question is why are we so fascinated with the movement of the moon?
I've also noticed Moon circles, sacred gatherings, and an overall turn toward spirituality that is particularly associated with feminine understanding and Goddess wisdom. It seems we intuitively feel a deep need to experience the Moon and Her movement in the sky. At the most basic level the Moon represents how we experience the inner most parts of ourselves.
One the the instruments that is deep linked with Moon ritual making is the drum. As a drummer, of course. my favorite circle is the drum circle. Drumming seems to be a powerful aspect of creating ritual Again the question, why are we so fascinated with the moon?
Perhaps the archetype of the Moon is resurfacing from our collective unconscious because the entire world is in need of re-balancing. In order to have wholeness within ourselves, we need to invite the circling of the feminine and masculine to create wholeness within ourselves.
Wishing you Happy "Playing the Moon"
