I recorded this brief video blog as a way to mark the energetic shift of the Equinox. The Equinox is the time of the year that brings us into a more contemplative space. So how does this planetary shift affect each one of us? Astrologically, we each experience this movement in terms of our own inner awareness, and through daily life events manifesting uniquely for each of us.
The cycles of movement with the seasons, and the regularity of the Moon’s constant changes is really a mirror of what takes place within each person. Our birth “Life Map” is an energetic representation of the unique vibratory frequency that each of us possesses. Whether we understand or even think about it, we are in constant dialogue with Cosmic and planetary movement through vibratory sound frequencies.
Yes we are all connected to this cosmic vibratory grid. Energetically we’re each sending and receiving unique vibrations. The Equinox marks the shift and tendency to feel a pull toward the inner world within the self This is a Lunar experience with the need to be more introspective and self-reflective.
One of the most powerful and ancient ways that we as humans seem to interact with the cosmic and planetary movements, is by using sound as a means of signaling our connection with these introspective changes. Have you noticed a difference in your emotional and physical responses to the shift of the days growing shorter, and in some locations the weather getting colder? Even if you live in a place where Nature doesn’t have much fall or autumn weather changes, we can still feel this deep shift in our collective DNA.
Sounding, toning, chanting, music making, dancing and drumming all seem to stir deep feelings and needs to create rituals, sacred journeys, and spiritual vision quests. This seasonal change appears to connects us with a quieting and turning inward process.
Also we seems to have a deep, primal, and intuitive need to experience community with others. Giving voice through sound also seems to be at the heart of our acknowledgement of the bountifulness from Mother Earth .
I believe that every season, element, planet and sign has and is an sound and energetic frequency. Personally, the drum is one of my favorite instruments because it’s fun to play, and also it’s related to the first sound that each one of us experienced. The first drum we ever heard was the heartbeat of our mothers.
Of course my personal preference and fascination is with the frame drum, because it speaks so directly of Earth wisdom, creativity, and to re-claiming and re-balancing the Lunar Feminine energy needed in our world.
So why not take a little time to reset your inner harmony, balance, and Soul connection with your own unique Sound. Each one of us is a note in the “Music of the Spheres.”
Enjoy the Rhythms in the Key of Life.
