The Month of September was a cosmically powerful month with both a Solar and Lunar Eclipses being featured at the New and Full Moons, with the signs of Virgo and Pisces. We also were entertained by slippery and earthy Mercury in Virgo retrograde until September 22, when the Fall Equinox gracefully came over the horizon.
This is perhaps a time to remember the summer “haze and daze”, and to ponder how to move forward toward the dark cover of winter. It’s a time to check where we need to call forth balance in our lives.
Each of the cosmic events mentioned above are part of a very sophisticated super GPS that each one of us has for life guidance and navigation. As we look around at all the circumstances, situations, relationships and events happening, which seem to be in a total jumble, we might ask, “What’s happening? Are the Stars fickled and flighty, and do they just love messing with our lives? The answer is no.

The Stars inform, but don’t cause things to happen. The truth is that each of us is in the center of our life experiences, and we are the “Star Navigator” of our lives. The Stars provide Soul and Life Purpose direction and guidance.
Just think about sailing on the ocean, and not having the navigational system in working order. Or even more so, not having done some training to learn how to use the navigational instruments, but blaming the system for not working properly.
Well this is kind of what happens for many people, when they declare that their astrology “Life Map” chart is just a bunch of jumbled up funny looking symbols. Indeed, your “Star Navigator” Self understands the symbols of the archetypal language of the intuitive and deeper consciousness.
In this blog I want to encourage you to take a moment to reflect, and rewrite your own continuing life story as you gain insight into how the Stars represent the inner language and landscape of your own unique self.
In our birth charts, “Life Maps”, the Stars (planets, asteroids and signs) were all in a unique energetic pattern when each of us was born. But there’s an important thing to be noted. These celestial bodies are not static. They do not stand in the same place, but move, journey, and transit in their orbits. They are in many ways a metaphor for our lives. For example, you have your primary living space, but your work and recreation/fun places may well be in some other locale. So on a daily, weekly and monthly basis you go from place to place.
In our Life Maps, the planetary movement is occurring through each of the 12 houses or sectors of our charts (the houses symbolize the life occurrences, daily situations, self awareness/soul/spiritual development, other people/relationships/family, work/vocation). As the Stars (planets, signs and asteroids) move through different signs they create energetic patterns which can actually be felt as flowing, static, stuck or blocked awareness. Are they really doing something to us? These cosmic energies are really messages and the Star planetary bodies are messengers.
There are many, many people who say, “oh I don’t believe in any of that stuff”. This is a choice I certainly honor. Perhaps, some people are not quite ready to explore or journey into deeper waters for whatever reason. But interestingly enough, this pattern of non belief and discounting of intuitive guidance, because it doesn’t fit with their linear limited five senses world, is indicated in the chart. The way this individual navigates her or life is also in a very limited manner. They don’t yet understand what it means to have a marvelous built in GPS, or what it means to be a “Star Navigator”.
Yes, we do live our Life Maps, whether we acknowledge them or not. If we don’t move with some awareness, we unconsciously move in the direction of the automatic settings on our GPS, and probably won’t enjoy and benefit from being our own “Star Navigators”.
