Part One:
Astrology is a fascinating system that can provide insights, direction, and focus on the movement of energy as shown on the natal or birth chart, “Life Map”.
Astrology like everything else is undergoing a paradigm shift. There are innumerable questions echoing as to how this system of awareness can be meaningful, useful, and impart value, to the individual who chooses to use it as a guidance system.
I became enamored with Astrology thirty-six plus, plus years ago while study counseling psychology in graduate school. Every Friday, I would flee the campus and go to my favorite bookstore, where they served delicious tea, and offered books on every occult and intuitive guidance system imaginable. Over time, I learned to cast charts by hand. The computer models for casting charts were developing, but programs were expensive, and so was graduate school.
Slowly but steadily, using my own chart and those of inquisitive friends, I began to acquire some insight and awareness of the clues. Each chart I studied revealed something about the person’s life expression and purpose.
Very early on though, I noticed that most astrologers and people writing astrology books described the ruling planets from a masculine perspective. Also the names of the planets came western mythological legends, namely of Greek and Roman origins.

As I studied, observed, and developed my ability to glean the clues, which is really a lifelong process, I began to wonder why only the Moon, Venus, and sometimes Saturn were associated with feminine archetypes. The reason I say “sometimes Saturn”, is because I’ve come across Saturn described as “father time”, but also as “mother wisdom”.
It is associated with introspection, deep inner reflection, and learning from and valuing what is learned from life lessons of challenges and problems.
It definitely appears that when a cosmic shift happens in terms of a celestial body(ies) being discovered, or revealing themselves, there also seems to be movement in the group collective consciousness. About 200 years ago the first asteroid appeared. This discovery seems to have coincided with the shifting changes in roles and perspectives about women.
So here we are with an evolutionary push that’s bringing the “Feminine Principle” into awareness. With an ever deepening inquiry, and questions on their meaning for human evolution, these “Stars Messengers” seem to be part of a collective “wake up call”. Simply put, the Asteroids appear to be signaling the need for a balancing influence toward the masculine-dominated hierarchy of what are viewed as major planets, Sun (luminary), Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Saturn(?). At present, Chiron is the only asteroid that is used regularly in casting a chart, and it is associated with masculine energy.
The Asteroids, Ceres, Pallas, Juno, and Vesta, and if the luminary(planet) Moon planet Venus Saturn(?) are added to the count, this would help provide some understanding of the “feminine energy” flow and balance in a person’s “Life Map”.
It is important to recognize that the feminine energy balancing is an evolutionary occurrence, and is not specific for, or to one gender. The balancing is related to the primal, intrinsic, archetypes, the cosmic patterning that every individual embodies.
What are your thoughts? What questions do you have? Let's chat on August 18th at the Live Soul Sound Session.
Stay tuned for part two on Monday.
