Part One
Astrology and Tarot are ancient intuitive, sacred, insight and inner guidance systems.
These symbol systems reveal the spiritual, energetic and emotional states that are universal in our collective consciousness. The symbols, images and pictures depicted on the card decks and on an astrology natal chart are archetypal. These visual representations are symbolic of the life journey that we share in common.

During this month, as we approach the end of the 2016 calendar year, everywhere we look people are questioning the stars, the stones, the bones, the cards, or any other tool of insight that might provide some answers. Questions abound as to what might happen in the future, and who will bring the answers.
I actually started this blog October 30 during the New Moon Lunar cycle in Scorpio that highlighted the rituals and festivals of Halloween/Samhain/Hallomas/Dia del Muerto. As I’ve been pondering the significance of this particular lunar cycle there seems to be one essential and core message. It has taken me the entire month to explore just a bit of the depth and energy that is confronting us through the energetic expression of Scorpio.
Scorpio and it’s ruling planet Pluto have brought and continue to bring us face to face with the hidden, ugly, raw, dispossessed parts of the collective psyche. So as this month comes to conclusion I want to offer some thoughts, and also emphasize that the Universe is also supporting and nurturing our collective evolution, through gifts from the intense, penetrating, death/rebirth transformative Scorpio. The power of Scorpio is about honoring and being willing to release that which does not serve our greatest good.
As you read this blog, you’re seeing photos of the Death cards that come from various tarot decks. Astrology and Tarot are superb companion systems. The sign of Scorpio, the 8th house and the rulership by Pluto, all have to do with what is no longer viable, and what must succumb to the natural process of decay and death. But there is a deep and profound gift to the alchemical aspect of releasing and allowing the symbolic fires to burn away what is no longer life giving.
As each Death card is examined there is an image or symbol of fire energy which is the means of bringing about transformation. Fire is the element that consumes, changes, transforms, initiates and inspires new growth.
This Scorpio gift from astrological symbolism is shown through the mythical “phoenix bird” rising from the transformative fire. This symbol represents the self rising from the raw, incomplete, dispossessed, and hidden aspects of the self that are not in tune and alignment with one’s Soul Being. The mission of the transforming fires is to burn away the dross, and that will leave each individual with a deeper sense of Soul understanding.
In order to experience and embody the authenticity, truthfulness, creativeness, and Soul reconnection, we must be willing to examine the old negative subconscious programs and messages of emotional blockage, denial of self and others, and be willing to examine and get rid anything that sabotages the right of all people to live a meaningful life.
Let’s briefly look at a global lessons being revealed by Pluto and Scorpio principles which are displaying the non sustainability of the current social, governmental, economic, religious, and cultural systems around the world. The wave of destruction and continuing warring, where large groups of people, their homes, and environments, cultural and life connections are being destroyed on a daily basis.
We are being bombarded with photos of injured, hurt and anguished people everywhere on the planet. All over the world there are many, diverse and perverse belief systems that says,”we can kill, maim, take and destroy people because that is the way to get what we want”. All kinds of justifications are behind these “anti-life” destroyers. One group uses so-called religious tenets to rationalize their systematic destruction, and another group dictates that it has the power because the the membership of that group possesses the “money might”, to take what appears to be theirs by entitlement.
Many of the people who believe in these patriarchal, decaying, archaic and outmoded beliefs don’t see the cycle of death /release and transformation as applying to them.
A further look reveals countless groups of people, one against the other because the so-call power groups who have designated themselves as being center(s) of the universe. The tarot Death card image represents the collective process of dissolution of what is not in alignment with the natural order of life. No matter the group, platform, religious tenets, socio-political, ideological or cultural beliefs, if the sacredness and divine wisdom of the Universe is not at the foundation, there is no foundation.
A bit closer to home is the confrontation of the supporters and activists standing courageously holding a light to illuminate the environment and give support to the voices of people choosing to honor Mother Earth. The Scorpionic gift being revealed here is about people digging deep into the collective Soul Wisdom, while refusing to abdicate their position as guardians of our Planet . These collective voices are questioning and standing up to the soul negating nature of profit at the expense of people’s health, well-being, and right to have a clean unpolluted life space.
