Our New Moon in Virgo features a solar eclipse on September 1st. Many people are asking “what’s the significance of the eclipse?"
According to the eminent astrologer and astrological scholar, Dane Rudhyar, who describes the solar eclipse as the “present time being overshadowed by the past”. In other words, whatever aspects of the self that have been hidden in some way, rises to the surface from the depths of the unconsciousness mind.
Since this New Moon and eclipse are in the sign of Virgo, here’s the question to consider for the next 6 months. What area of your life needs to be retrieved, separated from, wiped clean, and shaken loose from the past?

When we examine the house positions where we are experiencing this New Moon and the solar eclipse, we can use the momentum of this tremendous energy vortex to move forward. The New Moon is an opportunity to face what has been pushed into our psychic closets.
Also you might want to take a look at three other key players in our astrological play. Notice transiting Neptune in Pisces, Saturn and Mars in Sagittarius. All of these planets, and where they are positioned, will give us more insight clues, into the particular life arenas that require our attention during this eclipse.
Since each of our astrological charts are unique, our personal past, and the baggage we carry (may be big steamer trunks) will present different life scenarios, in response to common collective group themes. In general, Virgo is described as dealing with the mundane issues of work, health and service. Wow, this appears rather bland and ho-hum.
But Virgo is more than just the zodiac “just the facts please” sign. Virgo is one of the “seer” signs for cutting to the chase. Virgo is about telling the truth to ourselves so that we can see for real.
So here’s our parting question. Are you and I willing, and ready, to step through the “Solar Eclipse Portal” and be a “Seers” in our own lives, and give ourselves that crystal clarity, for continuing life’s journey?
I look forward to hearing how you’re keeping on your travels through the Portal.
