First Quarter Moon in Virgo: I intended to post this blog on the New Moon in Gemini. I actually wrote it, and it was ready to go on the 25th, but I got sideswiped by a case of procrastination. As I’ve delved deeper, I’m continuing to reckon with my Gemini ascendant, and the new Moon in Gemini who conjoined for this cycle. Since this is what I call the “Me Zone”, the first house, this new Moon cycle has and is putting me on notice. "Things that are kind of mentally foggy and emotionally murky are in need of attention and more clarity, now!"
On top of this, Saturn in Sagittarius is opposing my ascendant and is emphasizing some reality checking, along with this Gemini clarity. So, what does this mean? Fortunately only a mild (this time) very clear physical symptom of being mentally fragmented and emotionally waterlogged, a deep 5th chakra cough that sounds like a “foghorn.”
It means that my natal chart reflects my lifelong dance with balancing my mental airy thoughts, with my watery psychic feeling nature. So in order to get this blog out into the world, I‘ve had to dive deep into the more subjective, intuitive, and soul reflected Moon realm, in order to come back into the solar world.
Indeed, this is a paradox, having to go in, to come back out. The Moon is about how we experience life in the inner realm of self. Mercury is the guiding planet of Gemini. It’s the master planet, the voice, collector, transmitter, and messenger of what’s happening in both the outer and inner aspects of self. Now in this quarter Moon phase in Virgo, which is also guided by Mercury, I ‘m receiving some earthy support to balance my mind and feelings, through receiving a healthy dose of Virgo practicality and clearsightedness.

Here we are in a powerful and reflective New Moon cycle, May 25 -June 23. A new Moon is another opportunity to re-do, start again, realign your way of being in the world. Gemini is the sign that provides the chance to get out of static definitions of how things are suppose or should be. Throughout this month the key word and action needs to be on clarity of thought, action and word.
Most basic descriptions connect Gemini with social connection, communication, and sometimes with an person whose mind is flow with a constant barrage of ideas, which is true so far as it goes. On a trivial level, the sign of Gemini is associated with people who are said to be mentally scattered and unfocused.
