Part One:
Here it is the first of February, and my first blog of 2017 is just presenting itself to me. Whew! It feels like this year is shaping up to be a real zinger.
Most days I draw tarot or oracle cards and take note of the Moon's movement to see how the day and week is shaping up. I've regularly been getting the "Magician" which is also the card for 2017. Right now though, the Magician, Aries "New Beginnings, number One" energy has had to wait in the wings, until I navigate my yearly 7th Cycle.

Right now though, the Magician, Aries "New Beginnings, number One" energy has had to wait in the wings, until I navigate my yearly 7th Cycle.
I’ve been drinking flavorful cups of tea, and having deep consultations with my Muse about the 7th cycle, which is a yearly occurrence. My 7th cycle spans most of January, all of February, and ends with my B’ day in March when I hatch into the 1st cycle. Every year, 52 days prior to my birthday is a critical energetic space, which needs to be observed and acknowledged.
Does everyone have a 7th cycle? The answer is, Yes! This critical time period is easy to calculate. Get a calendar and count back 52 days from your birthday to when your 7th cycle begins. The entire calendar year is divided into 7 divisions of 52 days each, making up the 365 days. If a leap year happens, there may be 53 days for one of the cycles.
As my Muse and I’ve been sitting, talking and reflecting over the past few weeks, She has been quick to remind me that I’ve pushed the energetic envelope a bit. Dear Reader I’m going to share with you, three 7th cycle incidents that have occurred, even though I’ve been observing this cycle for years, I still have moments of not going with the flow..
It 's important to recognize that the 7th cycle does not, I repeat does not have the same energy as 1, 3, or 5. These are expansion cycles, the 7th is a pruning and dissolving of old things, one.
This is the low ebb time in mind/body, and where questions of a spiritual nature often arise. More rest, meditation/reflection, creativity, expressive arts, being in nature are all very good ways of moving through this cycle with greater soul awareness, ease, overall flourishing health and well being.
This cycle is not a time for major decisions or launching a new business. This is a releasing cycle, a dying away of what is no longer viable. Astrologically this cycle is related to the planet Pluto with rulership of Scorpio and the 8th house. Also, Saturn is a major player in this experience of dealing with the reality of what needs attention. Setbacks, obstacles, and difficult movement comes with Saturn. This is the planet that requires things to be done without "shortcuts". Destabilization and breaking down is a natural part of the primal life cycle of release, dying away and rebirth. The 7 cycle features all these aspects of the life moving toward renewal and expansion, which comes forth in the 1st cycle.
Here are some 7th Cycle examples from my own experience. Last week I had stacked too much on my proverbial plate, and went into brain overload. I often have strange dreams when this happens. I also start doing things on automatic pilot. Well my Muse got my “7th cycle attention”. Here’s what happened.
I picked up the wrong car key, went out the door, locked it, became conscious of holding a key that didn’t fit the car, and no one else was home to let me back in the house. Fortunately, my Muse was smiling on me, and I recalled that I hadn't locked the door from the garage. Eureka!
